Trying to match any type of foundation stucco or foundation concrete is a very difficult if not impossible task. You just never know how the color blending of your mortars or cements for a repair are going to come out. You can blend your patch material until your hearts content but when it dries it just might end up being a little darker or lighter than you thought.
So to get a perfect match on a foundation stucco repair can require additional labor. You will require time to play around with the colors in order to get a good blend. Otherwise if you get a pretty good match on the initial repair attempt, thank your lucky stars!
This particular patch in the pictures was a corner patch. The customer was very concerned that the corner patch would stand out like a sore thumb and she was right because usually they do. I told her I could spend more time color blending the foundation stucco but that meant I would have to take that time from others areas around the home that she wanted us to fix as well. She was fine with that so we went to work.
Most of the other patch areas where on the rear and back side of the home where they were hidden or less visible. So I told her I would focus on the front corner of the foundation stucco and do the best I could.
Usually these foundation stucco corner patches can take a few days to work out if that is allotted for in the
job. If the repair has to be done the same day due to cost constraints then the likelihood of a perfect match diminishes pretty dramatically.
This job required a couple of days to complete so this made it easier to get the match that I was after and it looks pretty good… what do you think? Contact us here.
